Man Sentenced for Severe Child Sex Offences in Liverpool

Martin Price, a 42-year-old man with no fixed abode, has been sentenced for a series of disturbing sex offences involving children. The verdict was delivered after a trial at Liverpool Crown Court, where Price faced eight charges.

The charges against Price included:

  1. Sexual Assault on a Child Under 13
  2. Causing or Inciting a Child to Engage in Sexual Activity
  3. Making an Indecent Image of a Child
  4. Causing a Child to Watch a Sex Act
  5. Engaging in Sexual Activity in the Presence of a Child

These acts targeted two vulnerable children and occurred within the jurisdiction of Merseyside. The court proceedings revealed the gravity of Price’s actions, leading to a unanimous guilty verdict.

On Friday, March 8, the judge handed down a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence to Price. Additionally, he received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a 10-year restraining order. Furthermore, Price is now subject to a notification requirement for an indefinite period.

Detective Constable Alexandra Lawrence, who played a crucial role in the investigation, expressed her strong condemnation of Price’s behaviour: “The behaviour displayed by Price was utterly appalling, and he deserves to be behind bars for several years.” She commended the victims for their immense courage and bravery in coming forward to report the crimes.

Despite Price’s plea of not guilty, the jury saw through his lies and rightly convicted him. Detective Constable Lawrence urged anyone who has experienced any form of sexual abuse or knows of a child being abused to come forward and report it to the police.
