A man has been shot dead by police at Milton Keynes railway station after reports of a man carrying a firearm.

Incident Details

The incident occurred shortly before 1 pm today (April 1) when officers from Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police were alerted to reports of an armed man at the busy railway station.

Armed officers from Thames Valley Police arrived at the scene and confronted the man. During the confrontation, shots were fired by police. Despite immediate medical assistance, the man was pronounced dead at 1:44 pm.

Police Statement

A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said:
Armed officers responded to reports of a man carrying a firearm at Milton Keynes railway station at 12:55 pm. Officers challenged the man, and shots were subsequently fired. Despite attempts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at 1:44 pm.”

Police have confirmed that they do not believe there is any further risk to the public following the incident.
