Man stabbed at Gants Hill roundabout as police launch investigation

Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed at Gants Hill roundabout on Sunday lunchtime (17 August).

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called shortly before 12pm to reports of a man injured at the busy roundabout, which connects to the A12 Eastern Avenue.

Man taken to hospital

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from a stab wound to his hand. London Ambulance Service paramedics treated him before taking him to hospital.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at around midday to Gants Hill to reports of a man injured. Officers attended and found a man with a stab wound to his hand. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Road delays and disruption

The incident caused significant disruption around Gants Hill roundabout, with sections temporarily blocked while emergency services responded. Drivers reported delays on the A12 and surrounding routes.

Appeal for witnesses

Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area at the time to get in touch.
