Southeastern has announced its schedule for the Christmas and New Year period, with significant timetable changes and engineering works planned. Passengers are urged to plan their journeys in advance, as no Southeastern trains will run on Christmas Day (December 25) or Boxing Day (December 26).
Here’s a breakdown of the Southeastern train schedule and changes during the festive season:
Christmas Period Schedule:
- Monday, December 23:
- All routes open with a Saturday timetable and additional trains on some routes.
- Christmas Eve – Tuesday, December 24:
- All routes open with a Saturday timetable and additional trains.
- Services will finish earlier, with no trains running after approximately 10pm.
- Christmas Day & Boxing Day – December 25 & 26:
- No Southeastern trains will run.
- Friday, December 27:
- All routes open with a Saturday timetable and additional trains.
- Saturday, December 28:
- Normal Saturday timetable, except:
- Buses replace trains between Ramsgate and Minster.
- Normal Saturday timetable, except:
- Sunday, December 29:
- Normal Sunday timetable, except:
- Buses replace trains between Margate and Minster.
- Normal Sunday timetable, except:
- Monday, December 30:
- All routes open with a Saturday timetable and additional trains.
New Year’s Period Schedule:
- New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, December 31:
- New Year’s Day – Wednesday, January 1:
- Most routes open with a Sunday timetable, except:
- Buses replace trains between:
- Folkestone Central and Deal.
- Canterbury East and Dover Priory.
- Sevenoaks, Maidstone East, and Ashford.
- Buses replace trains between:
- Off-peak fares available all day.
- Most routes open with a Sunday timetable, except:
Post-New Year Schedule:
- Thursday, January 2 & Friday, January 3:
- All routes open with a Saturday timetable and additional trains.
- Saturday, January 4:
- Normal Saturday timetable across all routes.
- Sunday, January 5:
