A person has died after being struck by a train in Kent, leading to major disruptions on Southeastern rail services yesterday (February 13).
Emergency Response at Northfleet Station
Emergency services were called to the railway line near Northfleet station at approximately 6:55 PM after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Despite efforts from paramedics, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Investigation and Coroner’s Report
A spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed the incident, stating:
*”Officers were called to the line near Northfleet railway station at about 6.55pm yesterday (13 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”*

Following the incident, all train services between Dartford and Gravesend were temporarily halted, causing major delays for commuters.
Southeastern Rail advised passengers to check for alternative routes while emergency teams worked to clear the scene.
