Police dog stops training exercise to help uncover suspected heroin in Minster A Kent Police dog halted a training exercise to help officers uncover suspected class A drugs following a vehicle stop. Officers from the Swale Community Policing Team, who were on patrol in Minster, requested a vehicle to stop while it was travelling in Queenborough Road as they suspected it was involved in supplying drugs. The stop was made shortly before 9.30am on Wednesday 13 March 2019. By coincidence Police Dog Sonny, a seven and a half year old springador, was undertaking training at a nearby premises and was able to assist officers in searching the car. A wrap of suspected heroin was uncovered following the search. A member of the public also handed over a bag containing money and suspected heroin after reportedly seeing it be thrown from the car. The vehicle has been seized and a 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. He has since been released, pending further enquiries.
