Police get a Section 60 order extended – Slough – UKNIP

A Section 60 stop and search order in Slough that was enacted yesterday (21/10) has been extended for a further 24 hours.

The order was put in place following an incident which resulted in a 17-year-old boy sustaining injuries after being stabbed at around 3.30pm in Station Road.

The Section 60 order applies to the areas shown on the map pictured, including the Langley area of Slough.

It is now in place until 10am tomorrow (23/10).

Deputy LPA Commander, Chief Inspector Lee Barnham, said: “We have extended this Section 60 order for 24 hours and will keep it under review to decide whether it is necessary to remain in place beyond 10am tomorrow.

“There will be a continued increased presence of uniformed police officers in these areas to provide reassurance.

“Putting Section 60 orders in place is not something we do every day, and we do not take decisions to do so lightly.

“These orders exist to help the police prevent serious violence. Although this may sound concerning, the Section 60 is just one of many measures we can use in order to prevent incidents of violence.
