Six Fire Crews Tackle 100 ton of Hay as Arson Probe is Launched

Six Fire crews and a water carrier are currently tackling a large barn that is well alight. Fire crews from Dorking, Reigate, Leatherhead, Salfords, Epsom and Painshill and a water carrier from Guildford were mobilsed just before 8am this morning (Tuesday). The Crews from across Surrey were called to Punch Lane in Dorking after the owner of Heron Farm Ltd contacted the service advising that a fire had broken out at Goldenlands Farm. Owner Andrew Bark is said to be devastated.

Crews are likley to remain at the incident for a number of hours. UK Power networks have also been called in to shut of power to the farm. Surrey Fire and Rescue are working with Partners form Surrey Police and have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Local residents are being asked to keep windows and doors closed due to the large amount of smoke from the blaze.
