Six Teenagers Have Been Arrested In Connection With A Fire That Broke Out At A Derelict Pub In Portsmouth

A fire investigation has been launched in the aftermath of a fire that broke out at a derelict pub in Portsmouth on Friday, June 3rd.

At 4.06pm yesterday afternoon, fire crews from Southsea and Cosham were called after smoke was seen coming from the first floor of a derelict building on Milton Road in Portsmouth.

When firefighters arrived, smoke was seen coming from various parts of the building; firefighters then requested police help to manage the traffic.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with hose reels, high pressure jet hoses, and an aerial ladder platform, as well as a PPV for smoke clearance.

Officers returned to the scene to determine the cause of the fire after launching a full investigation.

Following the stop message at 5.09pm, crews returned to station.

Hampshire Constabulary officers have since arrested six teenagers in connection with the incident as part of their ongoing investigation.

Witnesses saw the youths leaving the derelict pub before the fire broke out.

Police are asking anyone who saw the teenagers or has cctv or dashcam footage to call 101 and quote the case number 44220219825.
