Teenager Hurt in Newport School Run Collison

A School Student has  been rushed to the near by St Mary’s Hospital this afternoon in Newport.  After the female was  hit  by a car on Parkhurst Road roundabout this afternoon. The incident has  caused  major traffic chaos whilst emergency services deal with the incident. Horsebridge Hill in is very slow. Traffic on the northbound  lane  of dual carriageway and St Marys Roundabout is now  queuing. The existence of the females injuries is not currently known. Police  officers from Hampshire Constabulary  attended  with partners from Isle Of Wight Ambulance  service just after 3pm today (Tuesday). A police spokeswoman said petrol was reported to have spilled across the road and drivers were advised to avoid the area.Southern Vectis buses were diverted, causing delays of between 20 and 30 minutes on the Route 1 service, however they were able to return to the usual route at around 3.35pm. UPDATE:The student taken to hospital has been discharged with no lasting injuries. Traffic is slowly getting back to normal
