Vanessa Feltz, the well-known presenter from This Morning, has provided a health update after being rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery to remove a kidney stone.
In a video posted from her hospital bed, Feltz revealed she had been “doubled over in agony” due to a large kidney stone that required immediate surgical intervention. The ex-BBC Radio 2 host shared that the pain began suddenly, just an hour after she had been feeling fine, playing with her grandchildren.
In her update, Feltz admitted that the pain from the kidney stone, which measured 5mm, was worse than her experience of natural childbirth, leading her to cancel her LBC show. The surgery involved the use of a laser by a urologist to remove the stone.

Friends and fans quickly responded with messages of support. Fellow presenter Lisa Snowdon commented, “Oh bloody hell V! Super ouch and thank goodness you’re ok. Big love honey.” Kate Thornton added, “Ouch! Thank goodness you’re in the right place. Feel better and sending my love x.
Kidney stones are a common issue, with several types including calcium, struvite, uric acid, and cystine stones. They can cause severe pain when lodged in the tube between the kidney and bladder, which is exactly what Vanessa experienced.
