Two people have been charged in connection with a serious assault in Margate that left a man with stab injuries.
Kent Police were called to the Cowper Road area at around 6.30pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, following reports of an assault. Upon arrival, officers found a man with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the scene, and the victim was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Arrests and Charges
Shortly after the incident, a man and woman, believed to be known to the victim, were arrested nearby. On Saturday, December 14, both suspects were formally charged:
- Leigh Moxam, 22, of Railway Road, Newhaven in East Sussex, was charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Possession of a bladed article in a public place
- Assault on an emergency worker
- Criminal damage
- Donna Green, 44, of no fixed address, was charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Possession of a bladed article in a public place
Both suspects have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 16.
Police Appeal for Information
Kent Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing to the public for information.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said:
“We are urging anyone with information relevant to this incident, including CCTV or doorbell footage, who has not yet spoken to police, to please come forward.”
