Watermain fractured in the early hours in Newport
Drivers heading in and out of Newpoort expect delays this morning (Monday) due to the 2-way temporary traffic management system on Fairlee Road. A large water main has burst just after Midnight near to Orchard House, leading to repair works being carried out by Southern Water engineers. Emergency works to shut the main off were carried out to lower the pressure of the main. Contractors have installed a traffic management system whilst urgent repairs are carried out involving a dig down to repair a section of pipe.
