Dorset Police are urgently calling for witnesses following an alleged assault in Bournemouth, which led to one man being hospitalised and another arrested

Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses and any available CCTV or dash-cam footage following an assault on a group of boys in Yate on Boxing Day. The incident occurred just before 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 26, near the Shell Petrol Station on Westerleigh Road.

Six boys, aged between 12 and 15, were walking along the road when a car pulled up. A man exited the vehicle and sprayed an irritant substance, resembling pepper spray, at the boys before hastily driving away.

Following the attack, one of the boys sought medical attention and was subsequently discharged after treatment for skin irritation. Another boy received care at home.

Despite immediate efforts by officers to search the area, the suspect vehicle could not be located, and inquiries are ongoing.
