Woman dies in bungalow fire in Pinkneys Green Maidenhead

A woman has died in a fire at a bungalow in Pinkneys Green in Maidenhead. At 11.24pm on Thursday 11 May, Thames Valley Fire Control Service received reports of a fire at a bungalow on Headington Road, Maidenhead, from neighbours who had heard a smoke alarm sounding. Crews from Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor fire stations went to the scene and discovered a fire in the bedroom of a bungalow. Firefighters in breathing apparatus went in and extinguished the blaze using a hose reel. The body of a woman was discovered inside the bedroom and a Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Investigation Officer is working with counterparts from Thames Valley Police to investigate the cause of the fire.
