Woman facing assault charges after attacking Police in Shanklin

A woman from the Isle of Wight is facing assault charges after attacking a police officer overnight in Shanklin. The 33 year old woman was arrested after lashing out and attacking officers after they were called to the Hideaway Restaurant on Sunday evening. The woman is thought to be in drink was lashing out and being rude and antisocial towards customers and the owner who contacted the Police after she refused to leave. The woman who Police haven’t yet named remains in custody after being taken to Newport Police station for questioning on suspicion assaulting an officer whilst carrying out their duty and public order offences. Police say they were called to reports of a woman acting aggressively towards customers and members of staff.
