Prakash Chumroo, 37, a Mauritian migrant living in London, has been locked up for three and a half years after falling into a paedophile hunter trap. The former accountant struck up explicit chats with a Facebook profile he thought was a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
Dirty Chats Lead to Arrest
Starting on 14 September 2025, Chumroo messaged the fake schoolgirl for 13 days. He knew she was 14 but still discussed graphic sexual acts, including masturbation and condomed sex. He even warned her not to “play up or act clever” while admitting to masturbating during their conversations.
Plans to Meet Spark Police Sting
On 27 September 2025, Chumroo showed up at London’s Victoria Coach Station, intending to take the girl to a hotel for sex. He carried a rucksack packed with whisky, snacks, and a wash bag. But instead of a teen, the police were waiting to arrest him. The Facebook account was run by The Fleetwood Enforcers, a paedophile hunting gang.
Old Bailey Sentences Chumroo
Chumroo, who lives in Enfield, north London, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to arranging sexual activity with a child and attempting sexual communication with a child. He’ll serve 40% of his 3.5-year sentence behind bars, followed by release on licence. Plus, he’s now on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
