Cocaine, Road-Rage, and Insurance Offences: Weekly Round-Up from Bromley Magistrates’ Court

Action Skip Hire Limited hit with hefty penalty for ignoring court order to clear waste from Digbeth site.

Waste Woes: Court Orders Ignored

Birmingham’s Action Skip Hire Limited has been fined £9,495.50 after failing to remove waste as ordered by Birmingham Magistrates Court. The firm was told to clear all rubbish from a site off Oxford Street, Digbeth by 7 October 2025 — but when Environment Agency officers checked on 8 October, waste was still piled high.

Repeat Offenders Face Heavy Fines

  • The Environment Agency brought the case after discovering the waste left untouched on site.
  • Back in July 2025, the company was ordered to pay over £48,000 for illegally running the waste site without the proper environmental permit.
  • Despite being warned it could request extra time, Action Skip Hire ignored all outreach attempts.

Environment Agency Cracks Down

“The Environment Agency will pursue any person or company that fails to uphold the law to protect nature and will continue to press for the strongest possible penalties. Failure to comply with these legal requirements is a serious offence that can damage the environment and harm human health. If anyone has environmental concerns they should call our 24/7 hotline on 0800 80 70 60 or Crimestoppers anonymously and in confidence on 0800 555 111.”

The Legal Lowdown

Action Skip Hire Limited was charged under Regulation 44 of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 for failing to clear waste from their Digbeth site as ordered by the Birmingham Magistrates Court in July 2025.
