Man Jailed After Terrifying Campaign of Abuse
A twisted campaign of abuse ended behind bars for James Guest, 24, of Birmingham. The violent ordeal peaked when he broke into his victim’s home, brandishing a machete last July. Thanks to the victim’s courage, justice was served.

The guest relentlessly abused his victim before making a terrifying home invasion. During the court case, it emerged he even taunted the detective chasing him over the phone, daring her to “play a game” to catch him.
Despite his attempts to deny any wrongdoing, evidence piled up. Guest later admitted to breaching a non-molestation order, threatening with a bladed weapon, and threatening to share intimate images.

On 2 March at Warwick Crown Court, Guest was sentenced to two years and five months behind bars.
“When we first interviewed Guest he tried to lie and manipulate his way out of being held to account,” said Detective Constable Baylie Cairns.
“He abandoned his denials only when confronted with irrefutable evidence thanks to the victim’s bravery. Guest is clearly a danger to women, and we welcome this sentence.”
