Palmer Avoids Jail with Suspended Sentence
Herbert Palmer, 59, from Parkhouse Drive, pleaded guilty to reckless grievous bodily harm under section 20. He was handed a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Shocking Attack Caught on CCTV
The violent incident unfolded on 2 July outside a High Street pub. Police were called after a man was struck with a glass bottle during a disorder.
Investigators scoured CCTV footage and recognised Clarke and Palmer from the local area. The footage showed the victim trying to break up a fight between Clarke and a woman. Clarke then pushed the man before smashing the bottle over him. Palmer soon joined the brutal attack.
Thanks to the quick work of officers and their local knowledge, justice has been served for the victim of this shocking assault.
