Tragedy on Fairmont Road: 13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Scooter Crash
A 13-year-old boy has died following a horrific collision with a car while riding his scooter on Fairmont Road, Grimsby. The smash happened on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Crash Details and Tragic Outcome
At around 6pm, a white Seat Ibiza is believed to have struck the boy as he crossed the road on his self-propelled scooter.
Emergency services rushed the teen to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite desperate efforts, he succumbed four days later on Friday evening, March 27.
Police Investigate, Two Arrested
Humberside Police have launched a full investigation into the crash. So far, two men have been arrested:
- An 18-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving, causing serious injury, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
- A 41-year-old man on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Both men have since been released under investigation as police continue their inquiries.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the crash or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time to get in touch.
