Norman Gunn, 41, has been convicted after he hurled a tub of Angel Delight at his partner during a heated argument about his false leg. The shocking incident unfolded at their home last November, leaving the victim distressed and fearing for her safety.
Fury Erupts Over Prosthetic Leg
On the night of November 7, Gunn lost his temper after his partner criticised how long he was taking to attach his prosthetic leg. Fiscal depute Emma Farmer told Perth Sheriff Court:
“The victim and the accused had been in an on-off relationship for over a year and were living together. At 8.20pm there was an argument, and she asked him to leave.”
Gunn snapped back: “I’m putting my f**king leg on, you f**king prostitute.” He then grabbed a container of Angel Delight and threw it at her.
Phone Snatched and Public Plea for Help
The victim, upset, tried to call her grandmother, but Gunn swiped her phone. A passerby leaving a nearby bus heard the commotion, saw her hysterical tears, and her desperate plea for the police.
“She said she needed the police as he had taken her phone,” said the fiscal depute. “When police arrived, the victim gave a verbal account and was visibly upset.”
Second Incident and Court Action
Gunn later admitted smashing a glass pane at the same woman’s home on November 30 after she told him she wanted to end the relationship. The neighbour called the police after hearing the disturbance. Defence solicitor Keith Sym said: “He has never disputed the arguments or the damage to the door.” Sheriff Paul Brown deferred sentencing to prepare a social work report and consider a non-harassment order.
