Stolen Bike Pursuit Ends in Crash Leaving Two Teens Hurt
Sussex Police are urgently hunting for witnesses after a stolen motorcycle chase in St Leonards went horribly wrong. The crash happened on London Road just after 1.30pm last Friday, leaving two local teenage boys seriously injured.
High-Speed Chase on London Road
A marked police car spotted the stolen bike in St Leonards and gave chase. The 15-year-old rider and his 17-year-old passenger tried to shake cops but ended up crashing into several vehicles on London Road.
Youths Hospitalised After Serious Collision
Both teens suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment. Police have shut down part of London Road to secure the scene and told drivers to find alternative routes as investigations continue.
Police Call for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Sussex Police are appealing to anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Witnesses can email [email protected] quoting Operation Hayman.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been notified, following protocol for incidents involving police pursuits. Police remain tight-lipped but promise a thorough investigation.
