A North Tyneside drug dealer is behind bars after police uncovered a huge cache of drugs and thousands in cash during a major raid.
Massive Drug Haul Discovered in October Police Raid
In October, Northumbria Police launched Operation Impact targeting 35-year-old Scott Ridley’s home on Brookland Terrace, North Shields. Although Ridley was not present, officers found over 1,000 MDMA pills hidden in boxes, along with heroin, cocaine, cannabis, and more than £9,000 in cash.
Ridley Sentenced to 4 Years for Drug Dealing
Ridley was later caught and pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply multiple drugs, including heroin, MDMA, cannabis, and cocaine. On February 27 at Newcastle Crown Court, he was locked up for 49 months.
Police Praise Raid and Warn Dealers
“This is an excellent result for us and it demonstrates the value of proactive policing operations such as Operation Impact in disrupting drug supply in our communities,” said Detective Inspector Jonathan May.
“Acting on gathered intelligence, our officers carried out a planned strike on Ridley’s address, uncovering a significant haul of illegal drugs and cash.”
“Drugs have absolutely no place in our communities. We will continue to root out dealers and bring them to justice.”
“Ridley was previously jailed for 112 months in 2022 for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, yet he clearly hasn’t learned from his past.”
“We are pleased the courts have imposed another hefty sentence, giving him plenty of time to reflect.”
“Thanks to the public for their support. If you see suspicious activity, let us know so we can act.”
