Catch in Peterborough

A 21-year-old drug dealer tried to dodge cops by chucking bags of crack cocaine and heroin during a chase in Peterborough – but he was caught and jailed.

Sergio Pereira, from Salford, was spotted hanging around a group of drug users on Dickens Street, Eastfield, on 10 December. When he saw officers, he bolted.

More Than 125 Wraps Recovered

While fleeing along Padholme Road, Pereira tried to ditch loads of drugs. Police recovered over 125 wraps of class A substances, including heroin and crack cocaine.

Jailed for 21 Months

Pereira appeared at Huntingdon Law Courts on 23 March, where he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, plus possession of criminal property. He was locked up for 21 months at a young offenders institution.

“This was a great spot by our neighbourhood officers responding to community concerns about drug dealing,” said Detective Constable Igor Simonov.

“Drug dealing and the associated criminality hit the community hard. We urge everyone to report any concerns.”
