A vicious gang of five launched a ferocious assault in St Mary’s, leaving a man stabbed and seriously injured. The attack erupted after the group spotted a familiar car outside Coral bookmakers on St Mary Street.

Frenzied Beating of a Car Ends in Stabbing

The gang ran from the bookmakers and began smashing the vehicle, desperate to get at the three people inside. At around 8.40pm on Sunday 14 December, one thug plunged a knife through a shattered window, seriously wounding a 45-year-old Southampton man sitting inside.

Justice Served at Southampton Crown Court

  • Sheraz Ahmadzai, 24, formerly of Southampton and now Slough, copped 30 months for violent disorder after pleading guilty.
  • Irfan Ahmadzai, 19, from Kent Street, Southampton, was jailed for 15 months for violent disorder and criminal damage.
  • A 16-year-old boy, once from Southampton but now in Bristol, was handed a 15-month youth detention order after admitting grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage, and knife possession.
  • Mohamad Hussainzada, 18, of Slough, escaped prison but got a community order banning him from Southampton for 18 months plus 150 hours of unpaid work.
  • Another 16-year-old, now from Blackburn, received a youth rehabilitation order, including a three-month Southampton ban and no contact with co-defendants for two years.

Police investigations secured the convictions, sending a clear message that violence on Southampton streets will not be tolerated.
