Fourteen year old knife wielding School girl attempts to rob convenience store in Ryde
An investigation has been launched after knife-wielding teenage girl attempted to rob a shop in broad daylight. The uniformed girl is understood to have entered the convenience Store brandishing a large kitchen knife earlier this afternoon (Monday). Police officers were called to Duffetts Stores in Ryde just before 1pm following reports of the incident. A female shop worker has described the unnerving incident making out the girl to me no older than 14 years old. Brandishing the knife from a white bag she made a demanded to hand over cash. After the woman shopworker refused the girl made off empty-handed. A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said : “Officers are investigating after a girl, described as being aged in her teens, entered Duffetts Stores on John Street. She demanded staff give her money; whilst holding a knife. “The staff did not give her any money and she fled empty-handed”.
