Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport was evacuated earlier today, causing significant disruption for passengers travelling from the London airport. The area was cleared as a precautionary measure, and controlled re-entry into Terminal 2 is now taking place.
A Heathrow spokesperson commented, “This morning our teams worked with emergency services to respond to an incident in Terminal 2, which has now been resolved. We ask passengers to check with their airline if flying from Terminal 2, as the rest of the airport is operating normally.”
The Metropolitan Sussex Police at Cannabis Farm" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="32438">Police stated that the evacuation was prompted by a “suspicious item that needed to be checked out.” After thorough checks, the item was deemed safe, and the incident has been stood down.
Passengers are advised to stay updated through their airlines and Heathrow’s official channels for the latest information on flights and terminal operations
