Heavy police presence in Cowes
A large number of officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police have descended on to Smithards Lane in Cowes this evening (Friday May 4th). Three Police vans and two marked car turned up in the road just after 10.30pm. One patrol car remains parked on the corner of Smithards and Artic Road. Resident have reported that they saw a number of officer in the road and heading toward a property. One Resident who asked not to be named said: They are right outside my house been here an hour or so. Wouldn’t tell me what was going on. But nice to see such a presence if there is something going on. It is understood that officers where called to a multi dwelling property on Smithards Lane following a report of a disturbance within the property. One man has been arrested for a public order offence and taken away from the property. More to Follow Shortly
