Birmingham City Council’s Trading Standards team have cracked down hard, seizing a haul of illegal tobacco and vapes from a shop in Northfield.

Massive Seizure of Fake Cigarettes and Vapes

Officers recovered a whopping 876 packs of counterfeit cigarettes and 526 vapes during the raid. The illegal stash was swiftly taken off the streets.

Shop Owner Fined Over £1,400

The shop and its owner weren’t spared. They have been prosecuted and slapped with a £1,453 fine for their part in selling fake goods.

Council Urges Public to Report Suspicious Activity

A council spokesperson said the seizure is part of ongoing efforts to protect local communities and support legitimate businesses. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity to Birmingham City Council on 0121 303 9360 or West Midlands Police at 101.
