An inmate has been charged with assault and attempted murder after injuring prison staff in two separate incidents at top security jails.
Shocking Attacks at HMP Full Sutton and HMP Wakefield
Ahmed Ali Alid, 47, a Moroccan national, faces court over violent episodes at HMP Full Sutton near York on August 8, and at HMP Wakefield on October 21 last year.
Counter Terrorism Policing North East revealed Alid is charged with attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon inside prison. He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this Wednesday.
Life Sentence Prisoner with Previous Violent Convictions
Alid remains in custody within the prison estate. He is already serving a life sentence for murder and attempted murder. Earlier this year, he was found guilty of assaulting two emergency workers after attacking police officers while in custody.
