An urgent investigation is underway after the office of Labour and Cooperative candidate Stella Creasy was vandalised in Walthamstow, northeast London. Detectives Superintendent Dion Brown, responsible for policing Waltham Forest, condemned the attack, stressing that it is “entirely unacceptable” for a prospective parliamentary candidate’s office to be targeted.

The incident occurred between 3.10am and 3.30am on Sunday, June 23. The office, located on Orford Road, suffered damage to its window and door. Creasy, who has won the seat in the last four general elections, took to social media to address the perpetrators: “You don’t intimidate me, and you don’t belong in the political process.” She also called for the “strongest penalties” for this “anti-democratic attack” and assured that Walthamstow wouldn’t be influenced by violence.

Police are actively investigating the incident, including examining available CCTV footage. Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to contact the police at 101, referencing case number 2621/23jun. Additionally, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.
