Police bodycam footage has revealed the shocking moment a controlling boyfriend was handcuffed and hauled off a plane at Manchester Airport. Callum Coady, 27, flew into a rage after dousing his partner’s face with prosecco and threatening to kill her — the dreadful climax of over a year of relentless abuse that left her terrified to trust anyone again.

Prosecco Attack Sparks In-Flight Arrest

On 19 August 2023, flight staff at Manchester acted quickly to stop Coady after he went ballistic on board. CCTV showed him spotting a message on Daisy Martin’s Facebook account, then shouting at her before splashing prosecco in her face. He even shouted death threats in front of horrified passengers and crew.

The footage shows Coady being handcuffed and led off the plane. “Do I look like I’d kill someone?” he protested, complaining he was “missing my flight.” But officers weren’t having it.

The airport nightmare was just the tip of the iceberg. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court, prosecutors unveiled a chilling story of control and manipulation. Specialist domestic abuse officers sifted through over 35,000 messages recovered from Coady’s phone, revealing a calculated pattern of threats and isolation.

Coady pleaded guilty to coercive and controlling behaviour and was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. He also received a five-year restraining order, must engage with probation services, and pay £200 compensation.

“He made me forget what love should feel like,” said Ms Martin in a heartfelt victim impact statement. “I constantly look over my shoulder and feel anxious in public. My sense of safety is gone.”
