Locks Heath Arsonist Remanded to Crown Court

A 21-year-old man from Locks Heath has appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court this morning. Chad Dendy of Drake Close dressed in a black woollen jumper confirmed his name and address during the brief appearance. He also stated to the court that he wanted to plead guilty to the one charge of arson with intent to endanger life. The court heard that the victim was set on fire and received small burns to his skin and his clothes during the incident when petrol was poured over the Silver BMW that he was sat in on Sunday June 12 at the Locksheath Centre Car Park. No application for bail was made by Chad. The Magistrate remanded Dendy into Custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on the 15th July. The reason for refusing bail was the seriousness of the offence and probable disposal.
