Emergency crews including ambulance, fire service, and Kent Police are at the scene.
Delays and Diversions – What Drivers Must Know
Drivers heading coastbound are being forced onto a lengthy diversion. Here’s the official route:
- Exit the A2 at B259 North Fleet and head east on B239 Watling Street towards South Fleet Road roundabout.
- Take 2nd exit onto B259 Watling Street, staying in lane 1 to A2260 Hall Road junction.
- Turn northwards on Hall Road to the Springhead Road roundabout.
- Leave the roundabout onto Hall Road eastbound, then turn southeast on Coldharbour Road towards A227 Wrotham Road roundabout.
- At the roundabout, join A227 southbound, pass under the A2, then use next roundabout to get back on A2 coastbound.
Important: Traffic can still join the A2 coastbound at Pepperhill Interchange.
Plan Ahead: Expect Delays
If you’re travelling in this area, add plenty of extra time to your journey. Consider alternative routes or delay your trip to avoid the chaos.
