A fresh air link between the UK and Romania has just landed. AnimaWings launched its first flight from London Gatwick to Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport on Sunday, 22 March.
This new route runs six times a week from Gatwick’s South Terminal, giving travellers more options for direct trips to Romania’s buzzing capital.
Modern Jets and Top-Class Service
Flights will buzz between the cities aboard sleek Airbus A220-300 planes. Passengers can choose from Business, Premium Economy, or Economy cabins for a comfy ride.
Bucharest: Europe’s Next Hot Spot
Bucharest is rapidly becoming a top choice for short European breaks. It boasts stunning historic buildings, elegant Belle Époque streets, and a lively food and café culture. Plus, it’s the gateway to scenic Romanian gems like Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains.
Airport and Airline Join Forces for Growth
“We’re delighted to welcome AnimaWings,” said Jonny Macneal, Head of Aviation Development at Gatwick. “This service boosts travel options between the UK and Romania and strengthens our European network. It’s fantastic to see a new airline join us, and we look forward to supporting their growth.”
“The UK is a key destination for us with strong business, tourism, and community ties,” said AnimaWings CEO Marius Pandel. “We’re proud to offer a high-quality, full-service option using our modern fleet. We aim to redefine Romanian aviation standards.”
AnimaWings is one of eight new airlines joining Gatwick this year, as the airport ramps up its global reach.
