New homes unveiled in Portsmouth

Portsmoth City Council have unveiled some of the 204 council homes they have built as part of a four year project. Hornbeam House, on Ivy Close in the city centre, is just one of nine council schemes, going up around Portsmouth. When completed the £8.1m Ivy Close development alone will offer nine houses and 51 flats to council tenants, ranging from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses. The project has been managed by Portsmouth-based family firm, PMC Construction, who use innovative, environmentally-friendly construction techniques for the affordable housing sector. Council leader Donna Jones said, “It’s great to view the excellent new council homes PMC have built for us – 51 new flats and houses at Ivy Close!”
