Visitors to sail into better views as scrap heaps set sail elsewhere
In a development for the town of Newhaven, Councillor James MacCleary has announced a welcome change to the town’s waterfront aesthetic. The Port of Newhaven has informed the councillor that the longstanding scrap heaps, prominently visible from the East Quay and often the first sight for visitors arriving by ferry, will soon be relocated. This move comes as the company responsible for the scrap heaps has decided to transfer its operations to a different port that accommodates larger ships.
