Andy Hollebon, Head of Communications & Engagement at Isle of Wight NHS Trust said:

“We’re very grateful for all the support we received for the Summer Fete on 1st July at St. Mary’s; the Past, Present and Future event at Riverside Centre on 4th July; our Big7T tea parties on 5th July; and the Careers event and celebration bell ringing on 7th July. However we have taken this difficult but I hope pragmatic decision to postpone the NHS70 Thanksgiving Service on 11th July because we were concerned about the likely level of attendance taking into account the current heatwave conditions, the pressures on staff and the substantial number of events which happen in July. At this point we simply could not guarantee a good sized audience to fill All Saints Ryde which can seat up to 600.
