A chaotic drama unfolded at a Peterborough home when Mark Smith, 42, was caught hoarding heroin and crack cocaine. Police were called after reports of a disturbance at an Orton Goldhay property on 27 January.

Barricaded and Belligerent

Smith went off the rails, acting erratically before locking himself in a bedroom. Officers tried to talk him down, but he hurled abuse and refused to come out. When police finally forced the door, Smith threw a chair at them and was immediately arrested.

Drugs for Distribution

Once in custody, officers found 21 wraps of crack cocaine and five wraps of heroin on Smith. Investigators say the packaging made it clear these drugs were meant for onward supply, not personal use.

Jailed for Supply and Assault

On Thursday, 26 March, Cambridge Crown Court slammed Smith, who has no fixed address, with an 18-month jail sentence. He’d pleaded guilty to being involved in supplying crack cocaine and heroin, plus assaulting a police officer during the incident.
