Police Arrest Three Boys Following Moped and Bicycle Thefts in Cheltenham

Officers in Cheltenham have arrested three boys in connection with a series of moped and bicycle thefts across the town. The arrests followed reports of suspicious activity in the early hours of the morning.

Police received the first call at around 3 am today (Friday, 18 October) after a group was seen acting suspiciously while pushing a moped down the road in St Marks. A second report came in at approximately 4:50 am, indicating that a similar group had attempted to steal a bicycle from the High Street.

Officers conducted searches in the area and located three boys matching the descriptions provided by the caller. The boys were found in possession of bicycles suspected to be stolen and were subsequently arrested.

The suspects, two 12-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of theft of mopeds, attempted theft of bicycles, and criminal damage. They remain in police custody while investigations continue.

Police have identified the owner of the recovered moped and are working to trace the rightful owners of the seized bicycles.

Anyone who recognises the bicycles pictured is urged to fill out the online form quoting incident 51 of 18 October via the Gloucestershire Police website: Report information online.
