James Stockwell Jailed for 28 Months

A 32-year-old Salisbury man has been slammed with a 28-month jail sentence after admitting a shocking string of offences that terrorised one family. James Stockwell, from Friary Lane, pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal damage and dangerous driving at Salisbury Crown Court last Friday.

Targeted Attacks on Victims’ Homes and Vehicles

Stockwell’s criminal rampage involved throwing bricks through windows at both the victim’s home and their family’s addresses. He also slashed the tyres on their cars, leaving the household gripped by fear. The deliberate attacks weren’t random – they were chillingly targeted.

Dangerous Police Chase Ends in Crash

On the night of February 21, Stockwell was caught fleeing the scene in a BMW. Officers spotted the vehicle parked in a layby at Ower, but when approached, Stockwell sped off. A high-speed police pursuit followed, with Stockwell driving recklessly – running red lights, crossing solid lines, and ignoring road signs. His stunt ended when he smashed into a tree and fled on foot.

Police Praise Narrow Escape from Tragedy

“Stockwell’s string of offending was targeted and left his victim living in fear of what he may do next,” said Sgt Megan Peroni. “His dangerous driving during the pursuit showed a total disregard for public safety. It’s sheer luck that no one was seriously injured by his reckless behaviour.”

Stockwell was later arrested and charged with multiple offences linked to the terrifying ordeal.
