Sandown man arrested by armed Police released under investigation
A Sandown man who was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm on Thursday evening by armed Police has been released under Police investigation. Officers were called to Leed Street, Sandown on the Isle of Wight after concerned residents reported a man had a weapon. Following an area search by officers, an air rifle was later recovered. Officers also detained a 59-year-old local man on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed following an investigation the man was subsequently released from custody but remains under police investigation.
