At 1.23pm, officers raced to the roundabout where York Road slip roads meet Ivy Street.
A lone grey Volvo S60 ended up stranded on the city-bound entry slip, having crossed the roundabout.
Driver’s Condition Critical
The driver, a man in his seventies, was rushed to the hospital and remains in a serious condition. Investigators believe he suffered a medical episode behind the wheel.
