Thief Caught Red-Handed
Romana Anghel Persida, 42, made a pricey pilfer from the Co-op on Pickford Lane, right next to Bexleyheath station, on January 9. She was caught clutching stock worth a whopping £487 and swiftly arrested.
The Skirt that Spelt Trouble
Persida’s crafty plan? A specially made shoplifting skirt designed to smuggle goods out unnoticed. She was slapped with charges of theft and “going equipped for theft” thanks to the garment.
Guilty Plea and Court Ruling
Hailing from Beacon Road in Chatham, Persida pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on March 9. The court handed her a six-week jail term — but it’s suspended for one year, giving her a chance to keep out of trouble.
Ban from the Co-op
As a bonus punishment, Persida is banned from the Pickford Lane Co-op for one whole year. A clear warning to anyone thinking of pulling a fast one in Bexleyheath!
