The incident unfolded during a routine patrol of Bridlington seafront, where PC Broad and his tutor constable were alerted by CCTV operators to two individuals suspected of drug dealing. As they approached the suspects to conduct a stop and search, one fled on foot, leaving PC Broad alone with the second individual.
