A 17-year-old boy from Pontardawe has been arrested after making threats against Ysgol Maesydderwen School in Ystradgynlais, Wales.
Police Act Fast Over Threatening Messages
Dyfed-Powys Police took the teenager into custody on suspicion of sending digital threats of death or serious harm intended to cause fear. The incident happened on Monday, 2 March, sparking an immediate police response and a full safety review at the school.

Powys Superintendent Gareth Grant praised parents, teachers, staff, and local residents for their support. He said, “I understand this will have had a profound impact. Our neighbourhood officers will maintain a local presence for reassurance, and we will continue to work with our local secondary schools and partners to ensure our local community is supported.”
The teen has been bailed while police carry out further enquiries.
