A creepy stalker who haunted his victim’s home multiple times a day has been locked up. Andrew Giles, 54, from Exeter, was sentenced to eight months behind bars after terrifying a woman with his relentless visits.
Stalker’s Shocking Behaviour Inside Victim’s Home
Giles pleaded guilty to stalking involving fear of violence or serious alarm. The court heard how, from September to November last year, he repeatedly showed up uninvited. On one occasion, he even held a parcel awkwardly over his crotch after being let inside by the victim’s housemate.
He made unsettling comments about the victim’s body and his own underwear. His visits escalated so much that the landlord installed cameras and extra locks to protect the terrified tenant.
Escalation Sparks Panic and Police Action
- Giles turned up multiple times a day, often waiting outside to stalk the victim’s routine.
- He banged loudly on the door in the early hours, shouting and frightening the household.
- His presence became so unbearable the victim booked an Airbnb for safety.
- Doorbell footage caught him making threatening remarks.
- Despite bail conditions banning him from the property, Giles returned and was promptly arrested again.
Police Praise Victim’s Bravery as Stalker Gets Prison
“Andrew Giles is a dangerous individual, whose stalking behaviour accelerated at a concerning rate over a very short period of time,” said PC Charlotte Cameron.
“This was a horrific case for the victim and her housemates, and I would like to thank them all for their cooperation. Thanks to their courage, Giles was swiftly remanded in prison after breaching bail conditions.”
