Toddler Kol Page Dies After Horrific Abuse by Mum and Her Ex

Four-year-old Kol Page was found not breathing at a Bromley home on April 25, 2022. He had suffered brutal injuries while in the care of his mother, Zoe Coutts, 35, from Crayford, and her ex, Scott O’Connor, 36, from Thamesmead.

Kol survived the initial attack but was left with catastrophic brain damage and severe disabilities. Tragically, he passed away on June 29, 2024, aged just four years and three months.

Mother and Ex-Boyfriend Convicted Over Toddler’s Death

Following a trial at Southwark Crown Court, Zoe Coutts was found guilty of allowing the death of a child. Scott O’Connor was convicted of manslaughter.

Detectives revealed Kol endured repeated assaults in the weeks before his collapse. Injuries included bruising to his face, black eyes, and a serious abdominal injury caused by punches or stamps.

Shocking Abuse and Callous Jokes Revealed

Court evidence showed photos of progressively severe bruises. Disturbingly, messages between Coutts and O’Connor revealed them joking about hurting Kol.

“Kol was an innocent little boy who suffered horrific abuse in the place where he should have been safest — at home with his mother,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn.

“Kol was boisterous, cheeky and endlessly loving to everyone who knew him. He should have had a bright future but was let down by those who should have protected him most. He will always be remembered.”

Sentencing Set for May 8

Coutts and O’Connor are due to be sentenced on May 8, bringing this harrowing case closer to closure.
