Aurelio Mejía, 26, was fatally stabbed in a savage attack outside the LAXA Lounge nightclub on Ruby Street, Peckham, in the early hours of Easter Monday, 6 April 2026.
Chaos Erupts After 3.54am Disturbance
Police rushed to the scene just before 4am following reports of a violent brawl involving a group of men outside the busy venue. Despite emergency teams’ best efforts, Aurelio died at the scene from multiple stab wounds. Two other men were also hurt:
- A 24-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries is now arrested on suspicion of murder.
- A man in his 20s is fighting for life in the hospital.
Five Men Held Over Deadly Nightclub Attack
Detectives say the stabbing broke out during a group fight or disturbance. With many witnesses around at the time, police are appealing for vital information. So far, five men are in custody:
- Four men – one 18-year-old and three aged 24 – were arrested on suspicion of murder later on Monday.
- The injured 24-year-old man was detained after hospital treatment.
All remain held as police probe the deadly incident.
Police Urge Eyewitnesses to Speak Up
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: “Officers are working at pace and you will see an increased police presence in the area. We urge anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage, mobile phone videos or who witnessed the incident to come forward immediately.”
Authorities believe eyewitness accounts and footage will be key in cracking the case and bringing those responsible to justice.
